Description
From my “early works” collection, this ceramic vase was hand-built with clay that I textured with a basketweave pattern. A stripe of rectangular holes were cut into each of the four sides before firing. After glazing in neutrals of brown, tan, and white, I wove hand-spun art yarn in neutrals and purple tones, and wove it through the openings to create a textured band near the top.
